Introduction to the Thailand Digital Arrival Card

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is an online form that has replaced the paper-based TM6 arrival card. It provides convenience for all foreigners entering Thailand by air, land, or sea. The TDAC is used to submit entry information and health declaration details before arriving in the country, as authorized by the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand.

Official Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) Introduction Video - Learn how the new digital system works and what information you need to prepare before your trip to Thailand.

Who Must Submit a TDAC

All foreigners entering Thailand are required to submit the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before their arrival, with the following exceptions:

  • Foreigners transiting or transferring in Thailand without going through immigration control
  • Foreigners entering Thailand using a Border Pass

When to Submit Your TDAC

Foreigners should submit their arrival card information within 3 days before arriving in Thailand, including the date of arrival. This allows sufficient time for processing and verification of the information provided.

How Does the TDAC System Work?

The TDAC system streamlines the entry process by digitizing the information collection that was previously done using paper forms. To submit the Digital Arrival Card, foreigners can access the Immigration Bureau website at http://tdac.immigration.go.th. The system offers two submission options:

  • Individual submission - For solo travelers
  • Group submission - For families or groups traveling together

Submitted information can be updated anytime before travel, giving travelers flexibility to make changes as needed.

TDAC Application Process

The application process for the TDAC is designed to be straightforward and user-friendly. Here are the basic steps to follow:

  1. Visit the official TDAC website at http://tdac.immigration.go.th
  2. Choose between individual or group submission
  3. Complete the required information in all sections:
    • Personal Information

Benefits of the TDAC System

The TDAC system offers several advantages over the traditional paper-based TM6 form:

  • Faster immigration processing upon arrival
  • Reduced paperwork and administrative burden
  • Ability to update information before travel
  • Enhanced data accuracy and security
  • Improved tracking capabilities for public health purposes
  • More sustainable and environmentally friendly approach
  • Integration with other systems for a smoother travel experience

TDAC Limitations and Restrictions

While the TDAC system offers many benefits, there are some limitations to be aware of:

  • Once submitted, certain key information cannot be updated, including:
    • Full Name (as it appears in passport)
    • Passport Number
    • Nationality/Citizenship
    • Date of Birth
  • All information must be entered in English only
  • Internet access is required to complete the form
  • The system may experience high traffic during peak travel seasons

Health Declaration Requirements

As part of the TDAC, travelers must complete a health declaration that includes: This includes Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate for travelers from affected countries.

  • List of countries visited within two weeks before arrival
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate status (if required)
  • Declaration of any symptoms experienced in the past two weeks, including:
    • Diarrhea
    • Vomiting
    • Abdominal pain
    • Fever
    • Rash
    • Headache
    • Sore throat
    • Jaundice
    • Cough or shortness of breath
    • Enlarged lymph glands or tender lumps
    • Other (with specification)

Important: If you declare any symptoms, you may be required to proceed to the Department of Disease Control counter before entering the immigration checkpoint.

Yellow Fever Vaccination Requirements

The Ministry of Public Health has issued regulations that applicants who have travelled from or through countries declared as Yellow Fever Infected Areas must provide an International Health Certificate proving they have received a Yellow Fever vaccination.

The International Health Certificate must be submitted together with the visa application form. The traveller will also have to present the certificate to the Immigration Officer upon arrival at the port of entry in Thailand.

Nationals of the countries listed below who have not travelled from/through those countries do not require this certificate. However, they should possess concrete evidence showing that their domicile is not in an infected area to prevent unnecessary inconvenience.

0

This is false. Thai Privilege (Thai elite) members did need to fill out TM6 cards when they were previously required.

So yes you still need to complete the TDAC even with Thai Elite.

If a hotel was listed on the card, but upon arrival it was changed to another hotel, should it be modified?

0
AnonymousAnonymousApril 6th, 2025 7:35 PM

Most likely not, as it is related to entering Thailand

1
HASSANHASSANApril 6th, 2025 9:03 PM

What about the airline details? Should they be entered correctly, or when making them, should we provide only initial information to create the card?

0
AnonymousAnonymousApril 6th, 2025 9:25 PM

It needs to match when you are entering Thailand.

So if hotel, or airline charges before you have entered then you must update it.

After you already arrived it shouldn't matter anymore if you decided to switch hotels.

Dear Sir/Madam, I have identified several issues with your new DAC online system.

I just tried to submit for a date in May. I realize that the system is not operational yet but I could complete most of the boxes/fields.

I note that this system is for all non-Thais, regardless of visa/entry conditions.

I have identified the following issues.

1/Departure date and flight number is marked * and mandatory! Many people entering Thailand on long-term visas such as Non O or OA have no legal requirement to have a departure date/flight out of Thailand. We cannot submit this form online without departure flight information (date and a flight number)

2/I am a British passport holder, but as a Non O visa retiree, my country of residence and my home is in Thailand. I am also a Thailand resident for tax purposes. There is no option for me to select Thailand. The UK is not my residence. I haven't lived there for years. Do you want us to lie and select a different country?

3/So many countries on the drop-down menu are listed under 'The'. This is illogical and I have never seen a country drop-down ever that doesn't start with a country's or a state's first letter. 🤷‍♂️

4/What do I do if I am in a foreign country one day and make a spontaneous decision to fly to Thailand the next day, i.e., Vietnam to Bangkok? Your DAC website and information state that this should be submitted 3 days before. What if I decide to come to Thailand in 2 days' time? Am I not allowed to come under my retirement visa and re-entry permit?

This new system is supposed to be an improvement on the current one. Since you disposed of the TM6, the current system is easy.

This new system has not been thought through and is not logical.

I submit my constructive criticism with respect to help shape this system before it goes live on 1 May 2025, before it causes many visitors and immigration a headache.

1
AnonymousAnonymousApril 3rd, 2025 5:33 PM

1) It's actually optional.

2) For now, you should still choose UK.

3) It's not perfect, but since it's an autocomplete field, it will still show the correct result.

4) You can submit it as soon as you're ready. There's nothing stopping you from submitting it on the same day you travel.

1
AnonymousAnonymousApril 3rd, 2025 2:45 PM

This has very little to do with the TDAC, and more to do with the visa you will be arriving on.

If you just arrive without any visa then yes, you will run into issues without having a return flight.

You should join the Facebook groups mentioned on this website, and ask this, and provide more context.

Depending on the visa, a departure date may be required.

For example, if entering without a visa, a departure date is required, but if entering with a long-term visa, a departure date is not necessary.

They will fill out the TDAC form and select the travel mode as 'LAND'.

You need to enter the vehicle registration number from Laos or the hired vehicle.

Yes, but you can do it while you are in the car.

I don't understand because the vehicle from Laos does not drive into Thailand. At the Chong Mek checkpoint, I will hire a Thai tour vehicle, so I want to know which vehicle registration number I need to enter.

If you walk across the border into Thailand, select 'Other' and there is no need to fill in the vehicle registration number.

Returning to Thailand with a Non-O visa, I obviously do not have a return flight! What future date should I put for the exit and what flight number should I use since I do not have it yet?

The Departure field is optional, so in your case, you should leave it blank.

If you complete the form, the departure date and flight number is a mandatory field. You cannot submit the form without it.

Arriving on private yacht from Australia. 30 days sailing time. Cannot get online to submit until I actually arrive in Phuket. Is this acceptable?
